SLS Successfully Carries Out Medical Mission in Nigeria

n 19th June 2021, a one-day medical mission outreach organized by the Saint Luke Society was carried out. The planning and setting up of the events started some months before. The initial location was changed about 3 times (from Yola to Abuja to Lagos to Odeda) but glory be to God for the success of the mission outreach.

A total of 15 doctors, 13 nurses, and other staff attended to about 400 patients. The location of the outreach was in a village called Odeda, which is a small remote village. The mission started in the morning and ended about 5 pm in the evening during which patients were given public health lectures, attended to, and were prescribed medications.

Representative of SLS Africa shared that it was quite an experience and he gave all the glory to God for the success of the mission outreach, especially having considered that it was the very first medical mission performed by SLS in Nigeria. SLS plans to do further missions in the nearest future.
