On 20th February 2022, Kitwe Gratia church held a Sunday service with 21 attendants including 3 visitors. The message was delivered by Brother Matthews from Romans 4 about being justified by faith.
Jews, until now, have the mentality that they must obey the law so that they can become righteous. They used to live just like this. Then suddenly, grace just came down. Instead of speaking about the law, Paul is speaking of love and grace. That is why this could be unfamiliar to the Jews.
In Romans chapter 4, Paul brings out two people. These are very important people for the Jew: Abraham, and David. He is saying, let’s look at the ancestors before you. He became the ancestor, it is not because he did something good. How did he become the ancestor of faith? How did Abraham become the ancestor? It is by faith, that is what he is saying there. God seeing his faith, God justified him as righteous. So by faith, we are being justified.
