On 4th July, Zambia Gratia Church held Sunday, and the message was shared by Ivy from the book of Genesis 4:3-9.
According to what she shared about the sin lies at the door, first of all, we need to understand by the question why sin lies at the door. Let us look at Adam, who ate the forbidden fruit and opened the way for Satan to enter on that door. And sin enters in his heart, Satan approached him out because of the fruit he ate, through Adam, sin enters the world and everyone was a slave to sin.
When the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the Lord, but Abel brought fat portions from the firstborn of his flock. The Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering, and God accepted the offering of Abel. Cain was angry with his brother and he killed him because of anger and jealousy.
What kind of sin is the biggest or most serious of all sin (lying, cheating, adultery, anger, murder, hate, etc.), there is a root sin. For example, let us say that we pull out all the weeds from the ground, but they keep growing back because we didn’t take out the root. Just like that, even though we try to take out sin, we still end up sinning.
People try to spread love throughout the world, but people still hate and are at war with each other. Why is it like that? It is because out of all sins, there is a sin that is the root of everything. We didn’t take out the root and that’s why we keep committing sin and the world is the way it is.
So we need to know what and where the root is so that we can get rid of the whole weed. So if we open the door for sin it will enter and this is the sin of anger and jealousy therefore, we need to overcome it by God’s word.
