Nairobi Gratia Church Sunday Service “Dream to Enter God’s Rest”

Nairobi Gratia Church of Kenya had its first Sunday service of 2021 today January 3rd. The sermon was from the book of Hebrews 4:1-11 by intern Pastor Walter Livingstone.

A call to heed to enter the rest of God was the center of today’s message. Emphasizing on verse 7 of the scripture, “again he appoints a certain day, “Today,” saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.” the preacher asked the Church to give keen attention to God’s Word.

We are being called unto obedience, to listen to the voice of God and receive His Word as it is, believe in it, and trust in God’s Love. We don’t want to be like our ancestors the people of Israel. They rebelled against God in the wilderness after coming out of Egypt.

We were slaves unto sin, through Jesus Christ we are redeemed, we are set free and we are justified. We are no longer slaves to sin, so we need to live a life of righteousness, obedience, and faith unto God so that we may enter the rest of God that was already made from the beginning of creation as Jesus said in John 14:2, “In my father’s house there are many rooms”.

If we have unbelief in us, let us pray like the unbelieving father, “Lord, help me overcome my unbelief”. We should ask God to help us overcome our lack of faith in Him. Let us dream and desire to enter God’s rest. Let us change our ways this new year and follow the path of faith, obedience, and righteousness of God, he concluded
