Revival Church held Sunday service, with a total of 23 members, 7 children, and 16 adults. They were encouraged to live a life pleasing to God although living in a world that is full of evil and God will remember them just like He remembered Noah.
The bible study was led by Sister Rita from the book of John 12:42-50, she entitled the message, ‘walking in the light’. She said many leaders believed in Jesus but because of the fear that they had for the Pharisees and the love of praise from people they did not confess Him. “Jesus came as the light for the world so that whoever believes in Him will not abide in darkness”, “whoever hears His words and does not believe, He will not judge them for He did not come to judge the world but to save it, instead, the words that He spoke will judge them on the last day.” “Jesus did not speak on His own authority but by the command of the Father which is everlasting life,” “Therefore, whoever rejects Him rejects the one who sent Him,” she said.
“We must not love to receive praise from man instead of praise from God,” “the leaders knew that if they would have confessed Jesus, they would have been put out of the synagogues and the praise and respect that they received would have come to an end,” she explained. “For me to be saved I need first to confess that Jesus is Lord,” “the discussion is personal for even when the time comes for me to receive Judgment I will stand before God personally,” she shared.
“Judgment will come because we rejected the words that Jesus spoke”, “it will not come by Jesus but the very words that He spoke will judge us”, “in verse 48 says, ‘the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day'”. “Let us obey the words that we have received from Jesus for it brings life to us,” she concluded.
The sermon was given by Mr. Samuel Samwimbila who is the principle of Olivet high school from the book of Genesis 6:7-8. ‘God remembers was the title as he covered. “So the Lord said, “I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created, and with them, the animals, the birds, and the creatures that move along the ground for I regret that I have made them.” But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.”
“God was angry with the human race because they had become very wicked,” “but Noah lived a life that was pleasing to God.” “It was because of this life that he found favor in the eyes of God”. “We live in a world that is full of evil but we must not live like people of this world for we have been separated from the world”, “we need to be led by love in all that we do for love fulfills all the laws”, “if we have love in us then we know God for God is love”, he shared.
“Christianity is living changed life for the bible says that whoever is in Christ is a new creature, the old things have passed away the new things have come”, “although living in a world that is full of evil and darkness, we need to remember that we have been given a new life through Jesus which needs to be pleasing to God”, he concluded.
