Exhortation Through Humility, Revival Church’s Sunday Service

Revival Church held last Sunday service in the month of February on the 28th with a total of 19 attendants. They were encouraged to be humble for it is the only way they can be exhorted.

Brother Mathew led the Bible study from the book of Romans 1:16 with the theme, ‘I am not ashamed.’ He encouraged the people to do not be ashamed of the Gospel like Paul for although it may be a shameful story, it is actually the power of God of salvation to everyone who believes.

The sermon was led by the elder Mr. Samwimbila from the book of 1 Peter 5:5-6 where he encouraged people to be humble not just in the presence of God but also before men. The Bible starts by first encouraging the young people to be submissive to the elders then speaks about humbling oneself under the mighty hand of God and He will exhort them.

He further stated 5 characteristics that differentiate a humble person, for the person with pride does the opposite. A humble person has a low opinion of himself, as a teachable spirit, respects others, puts others before himself, and is willing to serve others regardless of his position.

Be humble because pride only calls for destruction and downfall. Many great men in the Bible who became proud were brought down and a good example is Saul, the first king of Israel who lost all his glory because he became proud.
